As I pulled into the yard late on this amazingly beautiful day, the first robin of spring I had seen with my own eyes flitted across my yard.

And it occurred to me it was particularly appropriate because I knew I would be writing about Spring Up sometime this evening.

Spring Up 2024 is the second part of Kinship Radio’s on-air fundraising effort to bring six new radio stations to life, and by so doing, reach many more people with the message that “Jesus is Lord!” through worship and the Word. Radio stations don’t just randomly spring up because there’s a lot involved in putting them on the air. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulates when, where and how many of them are allowed in an area, so that they don’t interfere with one another. There are a lot of equipment purchases involved in making it happen, and then there’s putting all the parts together so that it works–and works correctly, like a big engineering puzzle. And then it’s important to keep feeding it with good content and maintenance. It’s sort of like how that robin in my yard will build a nest and fill it with eggs and then patiently sit on those eggs until God causes a miracle to happen and new life springs forth out of those eggs. Of course, when those eggs do hatch, the hatchlings require feeding and care and protection from harm, so it’s not something that happens without a lot of intentionality and hard work. So being allowed to put up six new radio stations is kind of a big deal! The advantage Kinship Radio has that your average robin in the backyard doesn’t have is that we have you to help!

Of course, since Jesus told us we would do greater miracles than His disciples did and that He will give us anything we ask for in His name (John 14:12-14), miracles and signs and wonders like this shouldn’t astound us.

Okay, yes, they still do. HALLELUJAH!

It is absolutely appropriate to praise and glorify God when He does this kind of thing.

The six stations are: KJWC serving Hampton, Waverly, and Iowa Falls;KJGA: serving Osage, St. Ansgar, and Charles City with Spanish broadcasting; KJLW: serving Blue Earth, Elmore, and Winnebago also with Spanish broadcasts; KJCA: serving southwest Minnesota, Marshall, and Milroy; KJRX: serving Delhi and Redwood Falls; and KJBG: serving Hutchinson and Ellsworth.  KJGA and KJLW are scheduled to be the next stations to begin broadcasting. Stay tuned for further updates!

As you tune in over the next couple days, listen to what the Holy Spirit is doing through the ministry of Kinship Radio and think of that life-giving word going out across Minnesota and Iowa. Think of the blessings and lives that will be changed by the Good News that Jesus is LORD!

And, if the Lord allows, help us nurture the new life that springs up from those eggs!

Today’s Praise

Isaiah 61:10-11

I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God!

For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation

and draped me in a robe of righteousness.

I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding

or a bride with her jewels.

The Sovereign LORD will show his justice to the nations of the world.

Everyone will praise him!

His righteousness will be like a garden in early spring,

with plants springing up everywhere.

Is the KJLY site that I supported from its beginning and going forward for quite some time being used? Such beautiful setting and memories from the start🥲

    • Kinship Update says:

Good Morning Sara, Thank you for asking about the Blue Earth studio site. Yes, we are still using that site. We have our Spanish ministry airing from there for now. The plan is to move that to our new studio sometime in the new year. We also have other part-time staff working there and our engineer continues to use his office there.
      Blessings,
      Tracy Jones
