Sometimes, considerable effort goes into coming up with a topic for these blogs.

Other times, an event of such glorious magnitude is on the horizon and the topic of choice is, well… obvious.

This is especially so when the event is sponsored by the very same entity that sponsors said blog.

And, when the chief organizer of said glorious event is someone so talented, so radiant in her inner beauty, so likely to have her Christian capacity for forgiveness tested to its very limits should I forget and put forth several hundred words on the astounding design of the various species of octopuses, (As I did on Jan. 22, 2013.) well, even I’m capable of the appropriate level of discernment in such a case.

So anyway, on this very Saturday, April 22, at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, KJLY Christian Radio is presenting “A Day for Women” from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Doors open at 7:45 a.m.)

The featured speaker is Renee Swope, who has served in ministry leadership roles through the local church and Proverbs 31 Ministries for over 20 years. Swope says, “My passion is to help women discover the power of their stories, the uniqueness of their gifts, the beauty of their experiences, and the wonder of the passions God placed in them by equipping them with the courage and confidence to make a difference right where they are, with what they already have!” Swope will speak on how the Lord enables  “A Confident Heart.”

Also speaking will be Tina Haroldson, who is nearly legendary in her hometown of Amboy (Yes, that’s in Minnesota.) for her humor and engaging speaking style. Haroldson will also speak on how to avoid a negative outlook and maintain a confident perspective in the face of all that happens in life.

Leading worship, music, and inspiration throughout the day will be Jillian Jones of Mankato. No doubt you’ve heard Kinship Christian Radio playing her songs and enjoyed them. (I like “Roots Grow Down.”) One of my objectives for the day will be to get my picture taken with her, my wife, my daughter, and Allen Jones. (Give yourself a moment to keep up with me on this one.)

Ladies in attendance will also be able to attend various mini-sessions with a wide range of interests. (Some have already filled up, but there is still room in others, so do not delay!)

Lunch is being catered by the award-winning and very popular Freisen’s Bakery of Mankato and will no doubt be delicious. Gluten free options are available.

The events for the entire day come to a very affordable $30 per person. You can register online here: https://kinshipradio.org/home/womens-day/ or call 507-526-3233.

I’m sure you’ll find it very enjoyable.

Today’s Praise

My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises! Psalm 57:7 (NLT)
