What Day is it?

Burning Question:

What’s a song you haven’t heard in a while but would like to hear more of?

Morning Devotional:

I was a teeny bit mean last night and played a prank on my puppy. She loves to play fetch, and while we were playing, I threw a tiny orange tennis ball across the room for her to retrieve. When she wasn’t looking, I grabbed my giant orange inflatable exercise ball and when she returned with the little ball, I pretended to throw the inflatable ball to her. She was so scared! That huge ball was too much for her to process or handle, and she wouldn’t come near me for almost a half hour.

There are things that come at us in life just like that giant ball. They are too scary and too overwhelming to face alone. The good news is that we don’t have to face those things or carry them ourselves. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

God invites us to trade our “too big” overwhelming problems for His peace. We can take them and cast them – which means to literally toss or throw them – onto Jesus. He is more than capable of handling the weight of everything thrown at us.
