Morning Devotional:

I have been desperately hunting for a pair of shoes.

Not an ordinary pair of shoes, but a certain style from a certain manufacturer in a certain color combination in my size. You wouldn’t think this task would be so hard, except that my size in any kind of shoe can be hard to keep in stock, and I learned that the style and color combo I’ve been looking for was discontinued by the manufacturer. I have been looking on the internet for this pair for a few weeks now but I finally hit the bullseye last night. I found one pair online in my style, color and size. Out came the debit card and done!  A pair of shoes is on its way to my doorstep.

You may be thinking, what is so spiritual about buying a pair of shoes? Here’s the thing. I had given up a few times on finding this pair of shoes more than once, something I do in my prayer life a lot. I pray and pray for something and when doubt and unbelief hit, I quit. I shouldn’t do that and neither should you, because of the promise we have in Matthew 7:  “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For anyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” If your prayers aren’t getting answered, keep praying. Your answer will come.
