Burning Question:
It’s International Men’s Day! Who is your favorite fictional male character, and why?
Morning Devotional:
It took a while, but I finally saw it. A for sale by owner sign went up in the front lawn of the home next to my own. My neighbor passed away a few months ago and her family finally cleared out her house and got it ready to sell.
I’m sad about her passing but I got excited about this new opportunity. I thought about who might buy the place. A nice couple? Someone newly widowed? All I know is I want to make sure I have the opportunity to welcome my new neighbor in Jesus’ name.
Did you know that we are on God’s welcoming committee? He is always looking to expand His family, and He wants everyone to experience the joy of His presence. We can’t just enjoy our peace and quiet in the neighborhood. We have a duty to remove the “No Trespassing” signs and help put up a “Welcome Home” banner.
Jesus commissioned us in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” We need to actively point people to the open door and help them settle in. Let’s make sure our actions and words make it easy for others to move into the wonderful neighborhood of faith.
