What Day is it?

Burning Question:

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Morning Devotional:

I recently watched a video filmed by a music producer who found himself overwhelmed by a song he had been asked to critique by a friend. This friend was a Christian, and the song told of the great love that Jesus demonstrated by dying on the cross.

His critique started out normally, with a clinical grading of the song’s introduction and opening lyric. But the longer he listened, the more he was drawn in by the message of the gospel in the song. The producer was quickly overcome with emotion, touched by the compassion and forgiveness Jesus offered him. He was so moved by the depth of God’s grace toward him that he kept asking, “Where has this love been all my life? Why am I just seeing this now?” All I wanted to do was reach through my computer screen and lead him to Jesus on the spot.

I’m always intrigued by how God points prodigal children toward home. For this man, it was a song. For others, it might be a “chance” encounter with a stranger or a perfectly worded road sign. For a son in Luke chapter 15, it was a meeting with pigs in a pen that did it for him. Whatever gets their attention, I believe there will come a time when your prodigal will say, “Where would I be without the love of God?”

I know where I would be if I didn’t know Jesus Christ and I shudder at the thought. Don’t make the mistake of not knowing Him. He came and died on the cross for you so you could be with Him for eternity, forgiven of your sins.
