Burning Question:
What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever had sitting on your desk or dashboard?
Morning Devotional:
I had one of those moments yesterday afternoon when a case of the blues came over me like a black hole. I didn’t entirely know why, but I was in deep and having a hard time breaking out. Now God is good – He always is – and He gave me the perfect tool to dig out of the hole I had stumbled into.
It was a name. The name of Jesus. I felt the Holy Spirit urge me to lift my voice. I started praising Him for His mercy, and that black hole of sadness began to fill with His presence.
Psalm 34:1 says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” The phrase “all times” includes the low times. When we praise through the heaviness, we create a doorway for God to step into our situation but more importantly, into our hearts, our minds and our thinking. Before I knew it, the oppression I was feeling was gone. God is truly good.
