Morning Devotional:
You should have seen my puppy, Abbie, when I gave her a new toy yesterday! She didn’t just play with it. She gave it a parade! It started with a full-speed victory lap around the house, and she spent the rest of the afternoon carrying it around wherever she went, prancing like a princess and loving the gift.
As a dog, Abbie doesn’t overthink things, but I do, and watching her play with her new toy made me think about how I react to God’s blessings. James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” I love God’s blessings, but do I always follow God’s goodness to me with a parade of gratitude to Him? I want to have “Abbie-level” thanksgiving for the “good and perfect” things my Father has sent my way.
