Burning Question:
What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
Morning Devotional:
It’s a big decision every year. Do I write a Christmas letter or not?
It’s not like I have a lot to say. I’m still single, I live in the same place and have the same job. The only thing that has changed is that I have a new puppy. It doesn’t seem like enough to warrant an elaborate letter, considering the letters other people send out at Christmastime.
However, I read just this morning that a professor from the University of Iowa said that Christmas cards can have an impact on another person in 25 words or less. Twenty-five words! It made me realize that connecting isn’t about a long list of accomplishments; it’s about the power of a simple, grace-filled word.
Proverbs 16:24 says, “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” God wants us to speak words of encouragement to one another. Can you find twenty-five “gracious” words to share with someone this season?
