Burning Question:
If you could start a charity or ministry, what would it be for?
Morning Devotional:
Sometimes it is easy to get out of bed and know that the day is going to be a good one. Other days, not so much. But over the years I have come to realize that how you plan for the day is really important. If you’re watching your diet, you pack a healthy lunch instead of running for fast food over your lunch break. The tools you pack ahead of time help you be ready for the challenge to come.
When David went to visit his brothers as the armies prepared to battle the Philistines in 1 Samuel 17, he was amazed that no one was willing to challenge Goliath. Filled with faith and courage, David asked King Saul if he could go up against the giant. As he did, he listed his victories over a lion and a bear protecting his flocks as his qualifications. You know the rest of the story – David was victorious over Goliath and the Israelites enjoyed a win over the Philistine army.
When you are facing a battle in your day, remembering God’s faithfulness to you is your best weapon of warfare. Recalling the past victories God has provided you go far to bring about the next victory you need. Remember how God provided the money you needed to pay that bill, the healing you needed, or how He gave you peace in a time of chaos. God’s faithfulness to you in the past is your best weapon today.
