Burning Question:
What is your most memorable holiday travel experience?
Morning Devotional:
When I find myself online with a few minutes to spare, I enjoy watching videos from a Los Angeles animal rescue organization. One video I watched of a pet being reunited with its owners had me in tears.
A stray dog with a broken paw had been brought into the shelter and thanks to a microchip, the dog’s family had been located. The dog had disappeared during the family’s vacation and had been gone for months. When the family was reunited, all the emotional father could say was, “We never stopped looking for you. We never stopped looking for you.”
The love that family had for their lost dog was obvious, but it pales in comparison to the love our Father God has for you and me. We were once lost, but through Jesus Christ we are brought to relationship with God – a relationship that is sealed with a love that can never be broken, no matter how hard we try. Paul assures us of this when he writes in Romans 8, “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
No matter what, there is nothing that can ever, ever separate us from His love. Never forget that.
