What Day Is It?

The Burning Question:

When did you totally overprepare?

Morning Devotional:

I normally don’t watch a lot of television but I happened to catch the finale of a series I have come to enjoy over the years. The finale was written extremely well and at the show’s conclusion, I was reminded of a quote: “All good things come to an end.”

Is that statement true, though? Do all good things come to an end at one point or another? I have to say no. We have all felt the pain of good things seeming to come to an end. The last day of a vacation, the onset of discontent after a season of peace and success, the passing of a loved one, you name it. When it comes to spiritual matters – God matters – good things go on and on and on. His goodness goes back to before the start of the world and His goodness will go on endlessly forward in time. When God finally makes His dwelling place with us (Revelation 21:3), we will experience the reality of Psalm 16:11:  “In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” That sounds pretty good to me.
