The Burning Question:
What word are you a little embarrassed to admit you don’t know how to spell?
Morning Devotional:
I have a bright red T-shirt I like to wear around the house on weekends, especially when I want to be really comfortable. It has a saying on it that I absolutely love, but sometimes I forget just how powerful the message on it can be until I wear it out in public.
What does my T-shirt say? In bold, black lettering it declares, “Pray more, worry less.”
I was perusing the home decor section of my favorite store when it happened. “Wow, do we need to be doing more of that,” a woman said to me as she passed by, pushing her cart and pointing to my shirt. I nodded, slightly confused until I realized what I was wearing. It happened again at the garden center when a worker watering plants struck up a conversation with me about my shirt. We not so quietly talked about prayer, faith and our desperate need for God, right there in the petunia section.
I’ve had many days like that where my T-shirt has gained a lot of attention. I have also had days where I wished the lettering was upside down so I could look down and read the message for myself because I needed the encouragement. I get caught up in worry quite often, but we are encouraged to take all of our worries and cares and hand them over to the Lord in prayer. When we do, we can walk in confidence, knowing that He has all of our worries taken care of.
