What Day Is It?

The Burning Question:

What is a favorite activity from childhood you wish you could do now?

Morning Devotional:

I used to journal a lot when I was younger and I have dozens of notebooks that I have written in over the years. I was feeling a little nostalgic last night so I took some time to dig up some of my old journals and diaries from decades ago – from before and after I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior.

The difference in my writings was dramatic. From entries that spoke of my feelings of hopelessness to others right after I was saved that gushed with the joy I was experiencing in knowing the Lord, I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude. My reminiscing turned to worship as I thanked God for what He had done in my life.

Have you ever found yourself so fantastically reminded of where you are in your faith walk, how wonderful it is to know Jesus Christ, and what things could have been like in your life if you didn’t have Him? I find myself often in the position of Paul, when he was overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of God’s Son.  In 2 Corinthians 9:15, Paul simply says, “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”
