What Day is it?

Burning Question:

What Bible translation or resource has helped you the most in understanding scripture?

Morning Devotional:

My puppy, Abbie, provides me with endless entertainment. I have a TV cabinet in my living room, and her latest fancy are the glass doors on it. She’ll be playing with her toys on the living room floor and suddenly catch a glimpse of her reflection in the glass. She will freeze, utterly confused, and then try to figure out where the other dog is that she is seeing in the glass. I have seen her press her nose to the doors, crane her neck to look behind the cabinet, and last night she did this army-crawl thing under the cabinet in a desperate search to find the new doggy friend she sees so clearly.

Every time I see her do it, it makes me think of the verse in 1 Corinthians 13 which says, “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.” (vs. 12)  Sometimes we only see a fuzzy reflection of what God is doing or who He’s calling us to be, and we get thrown off. We tend to look in the wrong places for answers, not realizing that the truth is right in front of us, and one day we will see it all with perfect clarity. I’m thankful that someday soon, we’ll see it and Him face to face.
