Burning Question:
What Bible verse has stuck with you for years, and why?
Morning Devotional:
Why is it that our days seem to be dictated by battery life?
I feel like half of my day is spent making sure my devices are charged. Before I walk out the door in the morning or go to bed at night, I have to run through a mental checklist: phone, watch, laptop, tablet, is everything plugged in or have a full battery? The bigger question is, do I have the right stuff to charge everything? My phone needs one type of cable, my watch needs a different one. A dead device is useless, and without power, it’s just a matter of time before a device shuts down.
Some days, the battery that is in the most need of charging is my spiritual one. I will feel completely drained and running on empty. It’s then when I have to ask, what am I plugging into? The writer of Psalm 119 knew exactly where to turn when he felt his spirit failing. He pleaded with God, “My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!” (Psalm 119:28).
If you are in God’s Word daily and really engaged with it, you have the exact charger you need. God’s Word isn’t just a source of encouragement; it is the power source designed to recharge and strengthen our souls. When your spiritual energy is draining, remember to plug into your Bible!
