The Burning Question:
It’s National Reconciliation Day. What amazing story of reconciliation have you witnessed?
Morning Devotional:
I’ve always found astronomy fascinating. I love looking up at the night sky, testing myself to see if I can find the constellations and quizzing myself on what planets are visible at what time of the year.
My former home was in a small town and I was blessed with a backyard that had no light pollution to hinder my nighttime view of the stars. That’s not the case with my new home, however. City living makes it harder to see the stars with all of the other stuff that gets in the way – street lights, headlights from passing traffic, stoplights, lights from neighboring buildings, you get the picture.
We have a hard time seeing the things of God because of all the other stuff that gets in the way. That’s why I believe it is important that we take the time to fix our eyes on the things of God and simply focus on who He is – the One who created it all and holds everything in its place.
The Lord says this in the book of Isaiah: “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. “Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.” (Isaiah 40:25-26)
