What Day Is It?

No Burning Question today – Happy Thanksgiving!
Morning Devotional:
Francis Schaeffer once wrote a book called, “The God Who is There.” I haven’t read it, but I once heard Dr. David Jeremiah say he wanted to rename the book “The God Who is Here, There and Everywhere.” From what I know about the Lord it makes sense. God is everywhere at the same time – He is what we call omnipresent and I take great comfort in that. He is right here with me, seeing my struggles and meeting my immediate needs. But is that a trait of God that you call on in a time of need?
It needs to be in your faith arsenal and here’s one reason why. Knowing you are not alone in the fight is the thing that gives us courage to continue the battle. One of my favorite passages in the Word is this one from Isaiah 43: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” If there is anything I am thankful for today, it is that promise right there. It would be very easy for me to say I am alone in this world, but the truth is I’m not. None of us are when God is on our side.
