What Day is it?

Burning Question:

What is your biggest prayer concern?

Morning Devotional:

He Disliked It So Much

My son Malachi was chosen to sing a solo in his choir. Normally, that is something you audition for. But when it was time for auditions, his teacher just said, “Malachi… get down here.” So he did. And he ended up singing that solo in four different concerts. He did an amazing job. Truly.  And he really did not like it. Not even a little. Part of me thinks, I should probably be thankful he does not have the opposite problem of being prideful. But it also made me think about how often God calls us into things that stretch us, things we would not choose for ourselves. Malachi would not have signed up for that moment. But his teacher saw something in him that he did not see in himself.

And God does the same thing with us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Sometimes the very places we feel the most uncomfortable are the places where God wants to use us the most. Not because we are confident, but because we are dependent on Him. So if you find yourself in a situation you would never have chosen, take heart. God may be showing you something about who you are in Him that you could not see on your own.
