Morning Devotional:

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.

 Psalm 119:9

As a kid, this was the first verse that I remember memorizing.  The very first one.  And hey, I still have it. The verse asks a question and then answers it.

Psalm 119’s theme is simply “the law of the Lord.”  Young people struggle with temptations that would lead away from the Lord’s way. So do older folks, but it can be harder when you lack experience. Learning the law of the Lord lays the foundation for our lives.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Faith in Christ unites us inseparably to him. Psalm 119:9 asks each believer the fundamental question to which Jesus is the only answer.
