What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend!  Are you team “love the time change” or team “abolish it?”

Morning Devotional:

I took my dog, Abbie, to the groomer yesterday. It was about time because she was a shaggy mess! When I went to pick her up, she didn’t just walk out; she strutted out. Her fur was smooth, her tail was fluffy, she smelled like lavender and was acting like she’d never seen a mud puddle in her life.

What she clearly didn’t care about was the pile of dirty, matted hair on the floor she left behind. She was enjoying being the “all new Abbie.”

That’s exactly how God wants us to live.  Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” I can spend a lot of time looking back at the “old stuff” on the floor – my past mistakes and the person I used to be. If the old is gone, why do we still stare at it? I think we need to take a page out of Abbie’s book. If you know Jesus, you’re a new creation. Shake off the old you and walk in His grace!
