Question for You!:
What is the MOST PRECIOUS thing in your life right now?
Morning Devotional:
My Hand Hurts So Bad!
My son just graduated from high school, and we had a graduation party for him. It was a great day. Lots of people came. Lots of cards. Lots of gifts. Lots of encouragement.
Now comes the part he was not quite prepared for.
Thank-you cards.
Malachi is a lot like me. We do not do a lot of handwriting these days. We type. We text. We email. Most of the time, a pen feels like ancient technology.
So after writing a stack of thank-you notes, he was groaning, “My hand hurts so bad!”
And honestly, I get it.
But I am proud of him. He has stuck with it and is writing a thank-you card to every single person who blessed him.
It made me think about how gratitude takes effort. It is easy to feel thankful. It is another thing to actually express it. To take the time. To write the note. To make the call. To tell someone what their kindness meant.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Notice it does not just say feel thankful. It says give thanks. Gratitude is something we express. It is something we do.
