Burning Question:
What surprising words does your pet understand?
Morning Devotional:
It was a moment of weakness.
I left my gym last night with a major craving for ice cream. It took just one minor detour on my route home to land me in a drive thru and an ice cream sundae in my hands. It was delicious but an hour later, the sugar rush was gone and that familiar empty feeling was back again.
It reminded me of the question posed to us in Isaiah 55:2: “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?” We do this constantly, and not just with dessert. We chase after temporary things and wonder why we still feel hungry for more. Nothing can compete with the riches of God’s love and grace. Let’s stop chasing what will never really satisfy us and get our fill of Him.
