The Burning Question:
When was the last time you were surprised by an unexpected kind gesture from someone?
Morning Devotional:
I have been watching what I eat as of late so during my recent vacation, I was particularly careful about what I made as far as meals were concerned. Normally I don’t eat much for breakfast but one morning, I decided to splurge.
This particular meal was not going to be anywhere close to my early morning protein shake. I made BREAKFAST! Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit, juice, the works. I used my nice dishes and set a place at the dining table, put on some instrumental worship music and dined. It was a delightful start to my day.
A hearty breakfast is a great way to start the day but there’s an even better way and we find it in the Word of God. It’s so easy to miss, too. As we go about our hectic mornings, do we take the time to acknowledge the Lord for the fresh start He gives us in Lamentations chapter three? “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness.”
God’s renewed mercy toward us is the best thing about mornings, and much bigger than a short stack.
