Burning Question:
It is National Optimist Day! Who is the most optimistic person you know?
Morning Devotional:
I have a closet in my spare bedroom that has been in dire need of cleaning. I was looking for something that I thought might be in it last night, but I discovered something else I thought I had lost forever – an old photo album from my college years. I spent a good chunk of time looking through the pages, loving the memories that it triggered of some of the best moments of my life.
It was a great exercise, one that we are encouraged to do in the Word. Lamentations chapter three says this: “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Sometimes our lives get so busy that we forget to look back at the evidence of His grace. We often forget to say thank you, too, for what He has done. He has given us some good days, because He is a good God.
