Burning Question:
What is your biggest item of prayer?
Morning Devotional:
There was an anniversary celebration at my place yesterday. It was one year ago that I adopted my dog, Abbie. Since that day I have learned a lot about stain removal, carpet cleaning, how to sew chewed up plush toys, and repairing wood trim. I have also learned a lot about giving and receiving unconditional love.
Adopting Abbie required a specific process – a legal bridge of sorts that made her mine. In the same way, our entry into God’s family requires a specific bridge. Ephesians 1:5 tells us God “predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ.” Without Jesus, we are just strangers at the gate to God’s house. With Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we become daughters and sons in the living room enjoying a special spot on the couch. Hopefully, we’re not making too much of a mess.
