Burning Question:
It is Near Miss Day! When did you narrowly avoid disaster?
Morning Devotional:
No matter where I went this weekend, Abbie was under my feet.
When I was cooking in the kitchen, Abbie was there, waiting for anything to fall on the floor. At the dining room table, she was right there with her paws on my leg, begging for a bit of my lunch. She was at my side in the laundry room, waiting for a spare sock to fall on the floor so she could steal it and play with it. As I napped on the couch, she did too, with her full body laying across my feet.
While it can be annoying at times, I do enjoy the attention. I love that Abbie’s desire to be close to me is so strong. I also love how it demonstrates what our relationship with the Lord should look like.
In Luke 10, Jesus tells Martha that Mary had chosen the good part by being at His feet instead of worrying about the chores. I’m very much a Martha who misses the invitation to sit with Him. Being “underfoot” isn’t a nuisance to the Lord. It’s exactly where He wants us.
