The Burning Question:
When did you have “the best ever?”
Morning Devotional:
It was an interesting weekend at the Crosby household. I wish I could say I got a lot done around the house. I started a lot of projects but I wasn’t able to finish them for one odd reason.
It was because of things I couldn’t see.
I tried to hang a paper towel holder in my kitchen but I had trouble landing the screws in the wall, all because I couldn’t figure out where the studs were or see the marks I made on the wall. I’ve been trying to find out where wasps may be starting to build a nest in my siding. They’re congregating in one particular section but I have yet to see with my own eyes where they’re getting in. I dropped a part for a shelf I was building behind a cabinet in my garage – I can’t see it, much less reach it without some help. It all made me wish I had laser sharp focus or x-ray vision like some sort of comic book hero to do what I needed to and get the work done.
At one point in the day yesterday I thought to myself, at least I can focus on one unseen thing and rejoice in it. That would be the wonderful life that is to come when we are finally with the Lord in glory, the eternal life we are promised with Jesus as our Lord and savior. What’s happening in my house means so little compared to what’s to come in His house. As Paul told the Corinthians, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
