Morning Devotional:
Abbie’s welcome-home moment last weekend was intense! When I picked her up from the kennel after my vacation last week, she jumped right up into my arms, and she hasn’t let me out of her sight since. If I move an inch, she is right there. I didn’t know she could be so clingy.
But Abbie knew I was home safe, and I know she has been clinging to me out of love and relief. It’s the same way I feel when I turn to the Lord after being distracted or distant from Him.
We are encouraged to do as it says in Joshua 23:8, to “cling to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day.” It’s for good reason, because that’s where we find strength, comfort, and the assurance of His presence. If that’s what you need today, grab onto the Lord and don’t let go.
