Burning Question:
Which part of the Christmas story hits your heart the most, and why?
Morning Devotional:
Last week I drove past an old storefront and saw a mountain of boxes piled up at the door. It was a strange sight – boxes of what I assumed was inventory just sitting there. The business was closed and possibly empty. The delivery had been made, but there was no one inside to receive it.
How often do we do this to the Lord? He arrived on this earth to bring us peace, joy, and restoration, but yet we keep our hearts locked up tight, preoccupied or boarded up by our past. We stay “closed for business” while His best blessings sit on the porch, right there in front of us.
Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.” This season, don’t let His grace sit outside. Open up and let Him in.
