What Day is it?

The Burning Question:

What’s a habit you picked up from your parents?

Morning Devotional:

As we drove through the quiet streets under the cloak of darkness, I watched Malachi’s hands steady on the wheel, his concentration visible. With each passing mile, it felt like we were not just navigating the roads, but also journeying through the depths of his thoughts and aspirations.

In the dim glow of the dashboard lights, our conversations fill the car, filling the silence with laughter, questions, and shared dreams. It was during these late-night drives that I witnessed Malachi’s growth, not just as a driver, but as a young man stepping into his own.

As the hours stretched on, I couldn’t help but reflect on the passage from Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” This verse resonated with me as I watched Malachi maneuver through the challenges of the road, knowing that his journey, much like ours in life, was a work in progress.

In these moments of solitude and togetherness, I found solace in knowing that God is not done with any of us yet. He continues to shape and mold us, guiding us through the twists and turns of life’s highways until we reach our ultimate destination.

So, as Malachi continues to accumulate his driving hours, I am reminded to trust in God’s perfect timing and plan for his life. And in the meantime, I cherish these precious moments in the passenger seat, knowing that each mile brings us closer to the fulfillment of God’s purpose for Malachi, and for each of us.
