Morning Devotional:
I had about ten minutes to perform a miracle.
I got a call late yesterday afternoon from friends who wanted to stop by my place and say hello. I told them to come on over and as soon as I hung up, I took a look around my house and panicked. It was a mess! I had about ten minutes to make the place look halfway presentable so I turned on the afterburners and got to work. The broom was flying, the dustrag was flapping in the breeze, my dog had no idea what was going on. I only had moments to spare before the doorbell rang but when it did, I was ready. They had no idea of the absolute mess that was present mere moments before.
The people in Biblical days had fair warning about Jesus’ arrival. They had the words of the prophets to tell them. John the Baptist prepared the way for Him to come, and Jesus did just that – He came, He died on the cross, rose again to save us, and ascended to heaven to be with the Father. We have also been warned that Jesus Christ will come again to take His people home. Will you be one of them? You are if you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.
In 1 Thessalonians, Paul gives us fair warning of Jesus’ return, reminding us that we will be “caught up together with Him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
Are you ready for that day, because Jesus is coming back – and He wants you with Him.
– Beth
