Burning Question:
Have you ever been blamed for something you didn’t do?
Morning Devotional:
I had a great chat with my neighbor yesterday. We were outside enjoying our current warm snap, talking about life in the neighborhood when she said to me, “I just love the freedom of being outside!” I heartily agreed, but we both quickly realized how fragile that particular freedom is. As soon as the next cold front hits, that freedom is gone because we’ll both be huddled indoors keeping warm!
Our little jailbreak from winter isn’t going to last long, but there is a freedom that is everlasting. Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection set in place for us a freedom that is eternally secure. It isn’t dependent on the weather, our health, our bank account, our actions, nothing. That freedom is a gift from Him. Jesus says in John chapter eight, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Nothing can take that away from you. Not a cold front, not an Alberta clipper, not a polar vortex, nothing.
