Burning Question:
What is a funny thing you have heard a child say?
Morning Devotional:
With our Fall Share taking place this week, I had to work a lot of overtime, which meant my puppy was home alone a lot. By last night, she was miserable. I had lined up a series of people to stop by my house to let her out and even stay with her on a couple of occasions. By all reports, she did okay, except for one thing: she was lonely and just wanted me.
When I finally got home last night, I dropped my purse on the couch and declared this weekend a “no work, all-puppy weekend.” I’m going home to relax, nap, and toss around a few chew toys with my dog for the next couple of days – or at least until she has the reassurance that I am not leaving her forever. I am truly home.
We can fill our lives with good things, but if we’re not spending real, intentional time with the Lord, we can fall into a state of loneliness, as if we’re just lingering in His doorway.
Jesus said in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” We were created for connection with our Master. Maybe an “all-Jesus day” is what we need.
