What Day is it?

Question for You!: What’s the best pun or play on words you’ve ever heard?

Morning Devotional:

Dad, Can You Help Me Rotate My Tires?

That was my daughter Kalvary, who is turning 22 soon.

Now, before you get the wrong picture, I was not out in the driveway rotating tires myself. I have a place I go for that. In fact, our big van needed its tires rotated too, so I made a double appointment. Kalvary brought her car, I brought the van, and together we worked through everything with the service people.

As it turned out, she needed new tires, so we got those taken care of as well.

The funny thing is, she probably would have been fine on her own. She is responsible, capable, and perfectly able to handle things like that.

But it was nice to know she still wanted her dad there.

As your kids get older, you realize that helping changes. When they are little, they need you for everything. As adults, they often do not need you in the same way. But every once in a while, they still invite you into the process, and that is a gift.

It made me think about our relationship with God. There is never a point where we outgrow our need for Him.
