Burning Question:
What is something nobody will ever hear you say?
Morning Devotional:
One of my least favorite things in life are passwords. You need a password or a PIN for everything nowadays and I hate it when I forget one.
Yesterday I wanted to make a change to an account for one of those gas station reward programs I belong to. Much to my surprise, I couldn’t do it in the store. I had to do it at home on the company’s website, accessing my account with a password I haven’t used in years. Did I remember the password? I didn’t, so I clicked on the “forgot password” prompt on the sign-in page, followed the instructions and waited for the coveted password recovery email. It never came. I was lost in a forgotten password oblivion.
In this day and age, one can easily understand why we need things like PIN numbers and passwords. We need that level of security to keep others from doing nefarious things with our finances and information. Did you know that God has passwords for us to come to Him and enjoy His presence? Thankfully, they are found in Psalm 100: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.” God has given us the PIN to get into His throne room, and it’s an easy combination of gratitude and worship.
