What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

How has God revealed his goodness or his presence to you?

Morning Devotional:

When we walked through the door, my dog knew the place was something special.

To me, it was the boarding facility she was going to be staying at while I traveled out of state next month. To her, it was going to be a week of playing with other dogs at a “luxury” pet resort. Hearing the other dogs barking in the other room, she was whining, squealing and begging for me to let her off the leash and into the rest of the building to make herself at home.

What goes through your mind when you think about heaven, our eternal destination that we’ve been promised but have yet to see? Do you imagine every perfect detail Jesus has poured into preparing your forever home? There are moments I do and yes, I get excited, homesick and even weepy thinking about the day I get to walk through the door.

Jesus says in John 14:2: “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” In Christ, we have the “eternal reservation.” I can’t wait to get there.
