What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

What’s the worst white elephant gift you have ever given or received?

Morning Devotional:

I had to laugh when a text popped up on my phone: “New Year, Same Amazing God—only $10!” I knew this came from a company that sells Christian themed clothing, but the wording had me thinking how often we try to put a price tag on our faith.

We often treat our relationship with God like something we have to earn or a deal we have to close. But Christmas reminds us that the best offer in history wasn’t a clearance sale; it was a total gift. Jesus didn’t come with a price tag of $10 or even a list of requirements. He came to give us what we could never afford.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I think it’s time we stop trying to buy what’s already been paid for.
