Burning Question:
What is something you can’t believe you still remember?
Morning Devotional:
When I heard it, I froze. It had a familiarity to it, as I had come across it just about a year ago. The scratching sound coming from the wall behind my stove had to be that of a small animal. Yup, I’m pretty sure it was a mouse, and there is nothing I fear more.
My first thought was a wave of panic. How was I going to get rid of it? I looked down at my dog. She’s a Yorkshire terrier, and they were bred to hunt down rodents. There was a ray of hope as I thought, yes! I have a secret weapon! I then remembered she’s only eight months old and has a hard time catching leaves in the wind. The prospect of a successful hunt from her was pretty slim.
The idea of tackling this job was not a pleasant one and for me, it is a downright battle. Thankfully, it is one I can hand over to God. He knows my fears, He knows my worries, and best of all, He knows the perfect solution. The Word invites us to cast all our cares on him because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7). I’m going to hand this battle over to God – and probably call a professional.
