What Day is it?

Burning Question:

Other than the Bible, what is the last good book you read?

Morning Devotional:

In the Crosby family, we have a lot of duplicated names. In fact, each person in my immediate family shares a name with another person in the family. I’m dating myself, but there have been two Beth Crosbys in my family for over 50 years now. I was first, though – my dad’s brother married a Beth when I was a toddler.

That was something I was struggled with for many years, because in order to differentiate between us in conversation, my family used my first and middle name when referring to me – Beth Ann. I don’t like my middle name.

Names are important, especially in Biblical times, as they not only secure family lines but also express reaction to a person’s birth, communicate a message, or indicate a new beginning or direction in a person’s life. When He was eight days old, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple to be circumcised and officially give him His name – the name given to them by the angel that announced his birth. His name would become the most beautiful, most powerful name ever, and it is the name by which we are saved!

– Beth
