Morning Devotional:

I’m beginning to think I am the newest member of a not-so-elite club. I call it the “Here-For Club.” I have been catching myself walking into a room and asking myself, “What did I come in here for?”  Is there any chance you might be a member?

I’ll be honest with you – I don’t want to harbor the thought that my memory might be slipping but I think we all know it’s a part of growing older. My memory may not be the best but when it comes to my sinfulness, I feel like I remember every time I slipped up. That’s why I am all the more grateful God chooses to take our sins and toss them away, never to bring them up again. The book of Jeremiah chapter 31 finds the Lord telling us that He will forgive our iniquity and remember our sins no more. Psalm 103 says that “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” I may remember my sins but when God forgives them, they are gone, never to return.
