What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

What is the cutest thing you have heard a child say?

Morning Devotional:

Ever hear a knock on your door and feel a pang of anxiety? When it happened to me yesterday, my first thought wasn’t “Welcome! Come on in!” Nope – it was, “My house is a mess!” It was a mad dash to try and hide what I could of the clutter.

There was a man in the Word who received an unexpected houseguest. Zacchaeus was a man with plenty of spiritual clutter—greed, dishonesty, and a less-than-stellar reputation. Yet, when Jesus looked up into that sycamore tree, He didn’t ask for a cleaned-up version of Zacchaeus. He simply said, “I’m coming to your house today.”

Zacchaeus didn’t hide or make excuses about the mess. He opened the door and found something better than judgment: he found grace.

You may feel like your house isn’t ready for a visitor. But when the Lord knocks on the door of your heart, don’t let fear of what’s inside keep it locked. Let Him in.
