The Burning Question:
It’s National Teach Children to Save Day. What is the first thing you remember saving up to buy?
Morning Devotional:
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I miss my gym!
It has been a whirlwind week or so here at the radio ministry as we have been gearing up for our annual Kinship Radio Day for Women. We have been putting in a lot of extra hours preparing for this Saturday’s event – so many that by the time I have finished my work day, the gym I go to is closed for the day. I haven’t been there in more than a week and I miss my workout time. My muscles feel it and my spirit feels it, too. Taking that time for myself has helped take the weight of the world off my shoulders.
We tend to carry a lot of baggage, don’t we? Things like work concerns, family issues, financial stresses, you name it – there are a lot of worries and cares out there that weigh us down. We could try to bench press it all ourselves but why, when we have a Father who is ready to take on the load for us? Peter tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 to “cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.” Let Him take the weight off your shoulders. He can handle it.
