Morning Devotional:
If she would only walk straight ahead, she wouldn’t have a problem.
My dog Zoey is old, blind and deaf so whenever she has to go outside, I have to carry her. When I bring her back into the house, I always set her down in the exact same spot in the living room, making sure to point her toward her bed and her water dish so she can go directly and safely to her home base. This usually happens, but it’s not always successful.
Yesterday, instead of making a beeline for her bed, Zoey started walking in circles – smaller ones at first, but then the circles got so big she started hitting her head on the furniture and the living room wall. I picked her up and set her back in the same spot as before but this time, when she started walking, I guided her right to her bed where she tucked herself right in, safe and sound.
Can you think of any times in your life when the Lord set you on a certain path but you ended up wandering off course? What about times when God put you back on track and assured you with the words, “This is the way, walk in it?” (Isaiah 30:21) If you’re feeling like you’re off course and about to hit yet another wall today, you can ask God for help with the full assurance that God and His great grace will be there to set you back on track.
