The Burning Question:
What are you optimistic about?
Morning Devotional:
Proverbs 27:17 – “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
In the midst of chauffeuring my teenagers through the twists and turns of learning to drive, I’ve found unexpected lessons in the passenger seat. With seven children, the road to independence stretches long before us, each one requiring 40-50 hours of training with a parent. Initially, the journey feels daunting; their driving skills leave much to be desired. But with each mile, we’re all learning valuable lessons.
I’m discovering the power of generous praise, softening the sting of critique when necessary. It’s a dance of encouragement and correction, teaching us all to navigate gracefully through challenges and fears. And in this journey, I see parallels to our role in the Kingdom of God.
Just as I journey alongside my teenagers, nurturing their growth behind the wheel, so too are we called to walk alongside new believers in their spiritual journey. We celebrate their triumphs, grieve their setbacks, and offer steady support through every twist and turn. And as they mature in their faith, our hope is to witness them blossom into disciple-makers themselves.
So, let’s embrace the journey, both on the road and in our spiritual lives, knowing that through companionship and guidance, we can help others navigate the path to maturity and discipleship.
