What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

Tax Day is tomorrow! What is the closest you have ever cut it with a deadline?

Morning Devotional:

Sunday was the first day I could have all of the windows open and get some fresh air moving in my house. Now my dog, Abbie, is normally pretty brave, but there was something about the day that scared her. It took a while but I finally figured out what had her so scared.

My living room curtains.

The curtains are made of a light and flowy fabric, which were flapping around due to the cross-breeze in the house. The movement somehow spooked my little dog, so much that she either hid in the back bedroom or stuck to my side for most of the day.

Abbie’s fear of a little fabric was a little silly. So are many of my own fears. When I find myself afraid, I have to rely on Paul’s words to Timothy where he says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” When we are fearful, we have to ask God for that kind of mindset so we can see our fears for what they really are – unfounded.
