Kinship Radio Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct is a reflection of integrity, commitment to God, and highest ethical standards. This code defines the standards of conduct that we expect from all staff, ambassadors, and volunteers in making the best decisions when working for or performing services on behalf of Kinship Radio. Every volunteer is responsible for reading, understanding and abiding by the Code of Conduct. Whether you are a volunteer or an ambassador, you agree to the following:
Living By Christian Standards (1 Timothy 3:1-13)
- Act with integrity in accordance with the principles of the Bible.
- Treat others fairly.
- Work collaboratively with staff to execute the Kinship Radio mission.
- Communicate with integrity. This includes the use of electronic communication.
- Make ethical and informed decisions.
- Be aware of potential impropriety and the appearance of impropriety, Ephesians 5:3 “But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.”
- Live with sexual purity. Sexuality is a gift from God and must be exercised within the bounds of marriage as defined by Jesus.
- Do not use offensive language (e.g. vulgarities, sexual connotations, and racial or religious slurs).
- Use caution when initiating or receiving physical contact with others while serving. This includes gestures of comfort such hugging; these overtures can be unwanted or misinterpreted.
- Acknowledge when a situation surpasses personal knowledge and ability to seek help from Kinship Radio staff.
- Take responsibility for individual actions.
- Disclose potential conflicts of interest, that suggest an appearance of unfairness, impropriety or bias.
- Operate with financial integrity. Financial gain is not the intended purpose of this role.
- All volunteers must respect others and not become embroiled in non-essential denominational beliefs and political positioning.
