Last week on Mornings with Ryan and Beth, the “Burning Question” was, “What Bible verse has brought you the most hope?”

Of course, Kinship Radio listeners had lots of great answers, including this year’s theme verse, Isaiah 41:10:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (NIV)

For me personally, my mind immediately went to Romans 8:1:

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (NIV)

I’ve talked with countless people who suffer from the crushing weight of sin and guilt and shame. Many of them avoid Christianity precisely because they have believed the devil’s lies that this is a religion that’s about shame and guilt. The freedom found in Romans 8:1  (and let us not forget John 3:17) can gloriously change lives!

The other verse that came to my mind that absolutely shouts hope to me is Hebrews 4:16:

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (NLT)

The idea that someone with a past like I’ve had could come before the very throne of the God who created the universe and everything in it simply by speaking it into being is astounding, humbling, and earth-shattering! He even says I can stand before that throne and receive mercy and grace when I need it most! That the LORD would allow me to come into His presence and would listen to my requests is more than just hope-inspiring, it speaks of a love so amazing no human being could possibly have the words to describe it!

And that’s what Kinship Radio needs most right now.

Yes, we still need some volunteers to answer phones, greet people, and help in the kitchen. And, some fruits, nuts, crackers, cold cuts, cheese, and similar items would be appreciated. But the thing that Kinship Radio needs most right now is for the people who love it and support it to come before that throne of grace and mercy and ask our Father for protection from the plans of the evil one to harm this ministry. We need prayers asking for a mighty outpouring of provision to equip and fuel this ministry. We need prayers asking for all the staff to be blessed and protected and for all those who will witness and testify on the air to the power of the name of Jesus to be protected and filled with the Holy Spirit so that more and more souls can stand before that very throne of grace and receive that amazing, glorious, indescribable love that is only found in Jesus Christ, King of kings and LORD of lords!

THANK YOU, ABBA FATHER, for all you do and all you are! Please pour out your favor and protection over Kinship Radio now during Share and always! AMEN!

Today’s Praise

John 15:7

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (ESV)
