As human beings, we absolutely need hope.

A life without hope is desolate, desperate, and virtually impossible to cope with. “Hopeless” is a very, very painful word and reality.

The Bible is filled with many, many verses about hope.

Paul writes in Romans 15:13:

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (NLT)

Psalm 25:5:

“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (NIV)

When Jesus preached in the synagogue of His hometown, He proclaimed Isaiah 61:1 to be fulfilled on that day in their presence:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.”

And, Peter wrote this in 1 Peter 1:3-5:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

The hope we have as Christians is not just a hope that things will eventually work out for the best here on this earth, but that we have an eternal and living hope of a perfect and glorious relationship with God forever and ever. It’s a hope proven and solidified by the empty tomb and guaranteed by the presence of the Holy Spirit living in us.

As Christians, we can and should live with more hope and confidence and joy than any other people on the planet!

That hope goes out over the airwaves every single day, 24 hours every day on Kinship Radio. At any given moment, the radio signals going out have the potential to reach as many as one million listeners in Minnesota and Iowa. And, of course, anyone with the internet can listen online –and that brings the number of potential listeners into the billions.

As Kinship Radio’s annual Share takes place October 15-17 you will hear people sharing the hope they have found in our LORD Jesus Christ on Kinship airwaves. Their stories are amazing, glorious, and filled with hope. Jesus truly does set captives free and give hope to those who previously had no hope!

And, because He’s not done yet, you can be involved in spreading that hope as a much-needed volunteer on the phones or in the kitchen, enjoying any of the many Share events, or fueling that everlasting hope with a contribution –and it’s all available on the website at kinshipradio.org!

Share Verse:

Isaiah 41:10:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (NIV)
