What Day is it?

Burning Question:

You get to go back in time and speak at your high school graduation. What are you saying?

Morning Devotional:

I spent last week at a Christian broadcasters conference in Florida. We had just landed at the airport and needed a ride to our hotel, so I pulled out my phone and ordered a rideshare. I had to chuckle when I saw the assigned driver’s name. It was “Jesus.” Then the messages started coming: “Jesus is on the way.” “Jesus is five miles from your destination.” A few minutes later, “Jesus is almost there.” Finally, the message we wanted came. “Jesus has arrived.” As our ride pulled up, I thought to myself, it would be nice to have that kind of warning when Jesus Christ returns!

Believers throughout history have looked forward to the second coming of Jesus. It’s a promise we lean on from God’s Word. Acts 1:11 reminds us, “This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

The “Jesus is on the way” message should be a reminder for us to live every day with purpose. We should be sharing the good news, loving our neighbors, and serving God in obedience. We don’t know the exact day or hour of His arrival, but we do know He is coming and that day will be glorious. Let’s live ready, with our hearts fixed on His return.
